🇮🇹 How Father’s Day Is Celebrated in Italy
In Italy, Father’s Day is celebrated on March 19th, the Feast of San Giuseppe (St. Joseph), who is considered the protector of families and fathers.
Unlike the American holiday celebrated in June, Italian Father’s Day is deeply connected to religion, family gatherings, and food traditions. Many families enjoy a special meal together, and bakeries throughout Italy fill their display cases with one of the country’s most beloved desserts:
🍩 Zeppole di San Giuseppe
These delicious pastries are the symbol of Father’s Day in Italy.
Depending on the region, they may be baked or fried, but they are almost always filled with rich pastry cream and topped with a beautiful amarena cherry.
For many Italians, Father’s Day simply wouldn’t be complete without zeppole.
